GD10
GD10 tables are produced in K.D. (knock-down) form to enable it to be easily stored, transported and reconfigured on site without damage to its constituent parts.
The standard tops, end frames and rails are manufactured from engineered hardwoodthat are made-up from finger-jointed staves. This provides the ‘block board’appearance. Each wooden component is cut from those panels, laminated usingPolyurethane adhesive and then machined to detail. End frames incorporate traditionalmortise and tenon joints for strength, whilst the skirt rails bordering the underside of theworksurfaces are mitred in the corners to improve the tables’ aesthetics. All woodencomponents are finished with three coats of ‘Tung Oil’ – a natural, sustainable air dryingoil produced from seeds that provides an even, deep transparent coating that hardensupon exposure to air and is easily maintained.
The skirt rails and support battens pre-fitted to the worksurface are attached using‘hi-lo construction’ screws, providing a strong, flush fix. All other elements are attachedusing steel, metric Allen-key headed machine screws that locate into course threadedscrew-in inserts, providing a substantial metal-to-metal fix that maintains their holdeven after multiple assembly / dis-assembly operations.
End and centre frames are also connected to the top panels using 6mm thick Mild Steelconnector plates, used to spread the load. These are precision laser cut and have adurable epoxy powder coated finish.
